Addictions Recovery Center, Inc. (ARC) now offers group counseling for individuals that identify as a member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community!

The course is comprised of 90-minute group sessions focusing on Precontemplation, Contemplation, Preparation, Action and Maintenance. These sessions will cover topics including Drugs’ Effects on the Body, Relationships, Temptation and Confidence, Mindfulness, Acceptance, and Positive Thinking. The group objective is to facilitate movement through the stages of change and toward changing substance use behaviors while maintaining a focus on issues specific to the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Each session will target one or more processes of change at their most critical time in the treatment journey. They are facilitated by an ARC team member who is also a member of the Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Addiction Professionals and Their Allies – an organization whose mission is to confront all forms of oppression and discriminatory practices in the delivery of services to all people and to advocate for programs and services that affirm all genders and sexual orientations.
