JACKSON COUNTY, Ore. — Jackson County has received a $7.5 million for housing, emergency services and drug treatments. 

According to a news release from the Oregon House and Oregon Senate, the bills — SB 1530 and SB 1537 — were part of the Emergency Housing Stability and Production Package, which the governor signed on Monday. 

“The critical level of homelessness in Southern Oregon kept my attention well focused in the short session that ended in March,” state senator Jeff Golden said in the release. “The result, I think, was new funding that will deliver results folks in Jackson County will be able to see and feel every day.
