POSITION DETAILS

Addictions Recovery Center, Inc. (ARC) in Medford, Oregon, is a leading behavioral health agency offering a trauma-informed continuum of care for substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join our senior leadership team. The CMO will serve as both a practicing physician and a strategic leader, overseeing clinical services and guiding medical operations to ensure the delivery of exceptional patient care.

ARC’s Chief Medical Officer will work closely with the agency’s leadership team to shape long-term clinical strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and implement evidence-based practices that advance our mission of supporting client success. The CMO will also supervise medical staff, oversee service delivery in addiction medicine and withdrawal management, and lead efforts to improve patient outcomes.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead the clinical direction for all medical services, ensuring best practices in substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, mental health care, and withdrawal management
    • Collaborate with senior leadership on program development, policy implementation, and strategic planning to meet organizational goals
    • Provide medical supervision to physicians, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals
    • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation regulations, while integrating trauma-informed care into all aspects of service delivery
  • Program Administration
    • Offer expert consultation on medical protocols and service improvements
    • Review and update clinical policies to ensure the highest standard of care.
    • Represent ARC in medical community forums, building positive relationships with healthcare providers and regulatory agencies
  • Direct Patient Care
    • Provide comprehensive medical services to clients, including assessments, treatment planning, and medication management.
    • Serve as attending physician for patients in residential and outpatient programs, with a focus on addiction medicine and co-occurring disorders
  • Team Supervision
    • Oversee the work of the medical staff, including Medical Director, Nurse Practitioners, RNs, and LPN Supervisor
    • Lead interdisciplinary case reviews, care coordination meetings, and ensure the integration of medical and behavioral health care
  • Staff Development & Mentorship
    • Mentor medical staff, supporting their professional growth through ongoing training, performance evaluation, and leadership development
    • Ensure all medical providers remain current with licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & SKILLS

 

Education, Credentials and Skills should include:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification in a relevant medical specialty preferred
  • Previous experience in a leadership or management role within a healthcare organization
  • Strong understanding of clinical operations, protocols, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
  • Understanding and commitment to the agency’s mission and culture, with a focus on client success

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Most ARC employees are scheduled four-days a week to support their ability to maintain a healthy work and life balance; medical and sobering positions are scheduled to work three days a week
  • Starting wage for a Chief Medical Officer ranging from $170,000.00 to $212,500.00 annually, depending on credentials, skills, and experience
  • Three (3) to six (6) weeks of Vacation accrued per year, based upon years of service
  • Sick time is accrued for all employees based on regularly scheduled hours
  • Ten (10) Paid Holidays each year: New Year’s, MLK Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
