POSITION DETAILS

Addictions Recovery Center, Inc (ARC) in Medford, Oregon is a behavioral health agency providing a trauma-informed, comprehensive continuum of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorder treatment services in Southern Oregon. We are seeking a full-time Residential Medical Specialist with Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) or Peer Support Specialist (PSS) certification to provide patient-centered care for ARC Residential clients as they take their early first steps on the path towards recovery from their substance use disorder.

ARC Residential Medical Specialists provide support for clients in ours 24/7 residential programs by ensuring that good health is a part of their treatment and recovery journey. This role is an integral part of our residential clinical team, providing patient-centered care in a compassionate and trauma-informed approach, motivating and coaching clients on the importance of addressing health concerns during their stay in residential, and working to make certain no barrier exists for the wraparound healthcare services the client may need. The CRM/PSS certification is key to this work, as training in motivational interviewing sets the foundation for successful, client-focused communication and general interaction with clients and coworkers alike.

  • Activities and duties include but are not limited to:
  • Ability to perform pre-admission intake, collect and record prescribed medications, generate MARS and facilitate wraparound client support
  • Provide timely response to client medical concerns, questions, and requests utilizing ARC medical provider consultation as necessary
  • Work closely and in collaboration with medical, clinical, and operations staff, as well as ARC community partners, as needed
  • Maintain consistent and timely documentation of all client medical information, individual interviews, medical consultations, instructions and outcomes in the client record
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate policies/procedures/protocols for client medical care
  • Inventory and maintain medications and stock medical supplies for assigned unit
  • Keep client healthcare providers informed, as required, including compliance with order and prescriptions, and monitor for any barriers to care

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & SKILLS

Education, Credentials and Skills should include:

  • Advanced medical certification
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) a plus
  • Experience in addictions treatment or similar settings highly preferred
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Required training/knowledge of medication administration
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology
  • Strong attention to details and organization skills required
  • Demonstrate computer literacy and typing proficiency sufficient to operate a computer software including Microsoft office programs, EHR systems, and MARs
  • Spanish bilingual preferred

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Compensation and benefits include:

  • Most ARC employees are scheduled four-days a week to support their ability to maintain a healthy work and life balance; medical and sobering positions are scheduled to work three days a week
  • Starting wage for candidate with CRM certification ranging from $24.98 to $28.73 per hour, depending on credentials, skills and experience
  • Starting wage for candidate needing CRM training/certification is $22.98 per hour
  • Three (3) to six (6) weeks of Vacation accrued per year, based upon years of service
  • Sick time is accrued for all employees based on regularly scheduled hours
  • Three (3) to six (6) weeks of Vacation accrued per year, based upon years of service
  • Sick time is accrued for all employees based on regularly scheduled hours
