Addictions Recovery Center in Medford, Oregon is seeking a caring and skilled Detox Unit Technician to join our team of healers and ensure continuity of care in the Medically Monitored Detox Unit.
The successful candidate will work on-call with a guarantee of at least two (2) shifts per month in a sometimes demanding environment in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of recovery care providers. On-call technicians receive preference for full time positions based upon their work performance and interest.
Technicians perform work under the direction of our nursing team and clinic manager to provide sobering and withdrawal management care to patients in advance of residential addiction treatment. In addition, duties include: conducting client admissions/discharge procedures, monitoring and caring for those admitted for sobering and detox service, ability to provide sensitive and trauma informed approaches to at-risk and highly vulnerable patients, take and record patient vitals, maintain required chart notes and logs.
Skills required include: moderate computer and data entry proficiency, ability to perform pre-admission medical screening, collect and record other medical data, as necessary; and maintain and follow provider/nursing orders/instructions and complete required chart notes. Experience in addiction treatment and/or similar settings is preferred. A caring professional demeanor, good communication skills, passion for patient care/service, and strong listening skills a must.
